Welcome!

Welcome to our QPID Botswana project blog!

First, some introductions are in order. My name is Davina and I'm the Project Manager for the inaugrual year of QPID's Botswana Project. It has been an extremely exciting journey setting up out cooperants with two NGO's in Botswana  - the True Men Foundation in Francistown and Ditshwanelo in Kasane. For more information on these incredible organizations, please visit www.engsoc.queensu.ca/qpid It has also been amazing working with 5 incredible students who will be working in Botswana this summer!

Thomas, this year's Site Director, is a 4th year Commerce Student, and will be taking a leading role in the evaluation and monitoring of our projects this summer. He is extremely excited and will be sharing his adventures and findings on this blog as his experiences play out.

Going to Francistown we have Isabelle, a second year Global Development Studies major and Faisal, a 2nd year Chemical Engineering student. They will be working with the organization to promote male community leader's involvement in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

In Kasane, working with Ditshwanelo in their Landrights project and working to promote indigenous land rights will be Lyndsay, a 2nd year Global Development Studies major and Chloe, a 2nd year Biomedical Computing student.

As you can see we have a very diverse cast, a pumped group of students and excited community partners!

Thanks for following our project!
